On 3rd Muharram, 239 A.H. corresponding 16th  June, 853 A.D, the great Muslim scholar Othman Bin Muhammad Bin Ibrahim Bin Abi-Shaiba, passed away. He was the teacher of both Imam Bukhari and Imam Muslim, and authored a book entitled (Al-Musunnuf).              

On 10th Muharram, 5 A.H. corresponding 12th June, 626A.D, the battle of Thatul-Riqa'a took place. In that battle, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), accompanied by his companions, headed to Najd in order to fight the tribes of Bani-Muharib and Bani-Tha'laba, after he knew that they were gathering to fight him.

On 10th Muharram, 61 A.H. corresponding 10th October, 680 A.D. Al-Hussein Bin Ali (Prophet Muhammad's grandson) was martyred after he revolted against Yazid Bin Muawiya, whom Al-Hussein refused to recognize as a caliph of Muslims. His martyrdom has broken all Muslims' hearts over time. 

On 30th Muharram, 7A.H. corresponding 10th June, 628 A.D. the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) conquered Khyber, a big village located north east Medina. The village was inhabited by some Jews who betrayed the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so he (peace and blessings be upon him) attacked their forts till they surrendered.
